YU-GI-OH! CROSSOVER BREAKERS and Other Recent News

Earlier this month, Konami released the latest deck-building set for the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game, Crossover Breakers.

This set brings three new archetypes to the game including Ryu-Ge, Maliss, and Ryzeal. Honestly, Ryu-Ge hasn’t been getting talked about much yet and is definitely the weakest of the bunch, but Maliss and Ryzeal are taking the scene by storm.

Both were prominently featured at YCS Anaheim with Ryzeal even taking the win for Steven Trifunoski. Konami was kind enough to send me a box of Crossover Breakers and you can watch that at the bottom of this article. I’d love to hear what you have pulled from the set so far.

I did want to take a minute to talk about some recent Yu-Gi-Oh! news though. Konami officially revealed the entire list of games that will be a part of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection for Nintendo Switch and Steam.

As I predicted, all of the games are from handhelds and no console games are on the list. In addition, all of the titles I wishlisted in my previous piece are included so I’m very excited.

You can find the full list below and hopefully more collections can come with later handheld games and even console titles like many fans are hoping for. It should be noted that at launch, online battles will seemingly only be supported in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters 4: Battle of Great Duelist but Konami has said that “[a]fter release, some titles will be updated to support online battles.”

In addition, I would be remiss if I did not talk about the big news for the quarter century celebration. Konami announced at the end of November that they would release the last set of Quarter Century Secret Rares in Quarter Century Stampede (we all know this is just Rarity Collection 4) which is launching on April 11, 2025 and Alliance Insight releasing “a few weeks later”.

A while ago, Konami asked duelists to name their favorite cards that they want to see in QCR, and the top cards from that will be making up the 200-card nostalgia pool for Quarter Century Stampede. Kind of.

Roughly one third of the top 100 cards in the poll were already in Quarter Century Bonanza (but how were we to know!) and another third of cards that ranked highly were already being slotted for Quarter Century Stampede’s core pool and will remain there such as Miscellaneousaurus, Xtra HERO Cross Crusader, Cyber Dragon Infinity, Mulcharmy Fuwalos (WHAT!?), Chamber Dragonmaid, and Salamangreat Raging Phoenix.

That said, we do know that the nostalgia pool will have Trap Dustshoot, Metamorphosis (two great old format staples!), Lovely Labrynth of the Silver Castle, Master Peace, the True Dracoslaying King, and one of the biggest memes: Petit Moth. Even Konami didn’t expect that last one as can be noted by the copy which I have transcribed below:

As for the rest… Petit Moth!? Okay, it’s going in the nostalgia pool!

I guess Ruxin34 is more powerful than many of us imagined. The pack layout will be identical to Quarter Century Bonanza with 5 cards, 1 from the nostalgia pool and 4 from the core pool.

I’m hyped that at least Mulcharmy Fuwalos is getting a relatively quick reprint. I am really pumped to hear what the entire set looks like. Hopefully Petit Moth isn’t one of the best cards in it.

Now enjoy some pack opening!
