JURASSIC WORLD: REBIRTH Writer Says The Film Will include a Novel Scene Cut From The Original JURASSIC PARK Film

The writer behind Jurassic World: Rebirth, David Koepp, recently revealed that the creative team behind the film is bringing back a scene from the original novel in the new movie.

The moment was originally supposed to be included in Steven Spielberg’s 1993’s Jurassic Park, but it was ultimatley cut.

While talking to Variety he explained: “I reread the two novels to get myself back in that mode though. We did take some things from them.

“There was a sequence from the first novel that we’d always wanted in the original movie, but didn’t have room for. We were like, ‘Hey, we get to use that now.’

“But just to get back in that head space 30 years later – is it still fun? And the answer is yes, it still really is. Dinosaurs are still fun.”

While Koepp doesn’t reveal which scene he’s talking about, some fans have been pointing out some things that it could be, sahring on Reddit: “Can’t wait to see a baby Eaten by compies,” referring to the horrific scene where a trio of Procompsognathus eat a baby in its crib.

Another suggestion includes what’s been referred to as the jungle river scene where Grant and his team float down a river after the Tyrannosaur has escaped its enclosure before they eventually drift right into its path.

The movie is set five years after the events of Dominion, “in which dinosaurs mingled with humans all over the globe, these creatures are now dying out.

“The present-day planet proved to be inhospitable to the prehistoric ilk, except for a small region in the tropics around the equator, where many of them now congregate.

“The three most colossal dinosaurs of land, sea, and air within this biosphere hold genetic material precious to a pharmaceutical company that hopes to use the dino DNA to create a life-saving drug for humanity.”

The official plot synopsis reads: “The planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived.

“The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.”

The movie is directed by Gareth Edwards, and the cast includes Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali.

Jurassic World: Rebirth will hit theaters on July 2nd.
