Teaser Trailer for Prime Detective Series BALLARD Set in the Same Universe as BOSCH

Prime Video has released a first look teaser trailer for the L.A. based detective series, Ballard, based on the books by Michael Connelly, and set in the same universe as the Bosch series.

Titus Welliver even makes an appearance in the video. The show stars Maggie Q in the title role of Renee Ballard, the detective who oversees a new cold case division at the L.A. Police Department, and gets into some deep water digging into some of these cases.

The full cast includes Q with John Carroll Lynch, Rebecca Field, Michael Mosley, Amy Hill, Victoria Moroles, Courtney Taylor, Hector Hugo, Noah Bean, and Michael Cassidy.

The show is created and written by Kendall Sherwood (Major Crimes, The Code, Your Honor), and showrun by Sherwood and Michael Alaimo. It’s adapted from the “Harry Bosch” book series created and written by Michael Connelly. Episodes of the series are directed by Jet Wilkinson, Sarah Boyd, Tori Garrett, and Jon Huertas.

The synopsis reads: “This Ballard series follows Detective Renée Ballard (Maggie Q), who is tasked with running the LAPD’s new cold-case unit — a poorly funded, all-volunteer unit with the largest case load in the city.

“Ballard approaches these frozen-in-time cases with empathy and determination. When she uncovers a conspiracy during her investigations, she’ll lean on the assistance of her retired ally, Harry Bosch (Titus Welliver), to navigate the dangers that threaten both her unit and her life.”

This looks like another great series from the world created by Michael Connelly. I love the Bosch series, as well as The Lincoln Lawyer. We have to get each of these on the same streamer though so they can intersect! Check out the teaser below, and watch Ballard when it premieres on Prime Video this summer.
