Zak Bagans Investigates the POLTERGEIST Movie House in Tonight’s GHOST ADVENTURES Season Premiere

Tonight, Ghost Adventures kicks off its new season by diving headfirst into the house that Steven Spielberg and Tobe Hooper shot the 1982 horror film Poltergeist at. The actual filming location is located in Simi Valley, California.

The house, located at 4267 Roxbury Street, might look like your average suburban four-bedroom, but horror fans know better. Built in 1979 and used heavily during the filming of Poltergeist, the property stirred headlines again last year when it sold for $1.2 million.

It comes complete with three bathrooms, a pool house, a massive in-ground pool, and ghosts!

This marks the first time the infamous house has been investigated for paranormal activity on television, and who better to step inside than Zak Bagans and the Ghost Adventures crew? The two-hour season premiere airs tonight on Discovery Channel at 10pm ET.

“It was mind-blowing,” Bagans told People. “To be in the house that was in the movie, but also to know that there is actual paranormal events occurring there, it just blindsided me.”

He continued, “I wanted to see whether or not there was some type of inception for this curse, what would be the beginning of it. Why were some of the cast and crew complaining about paranormal occurrences while filming? Where did this originate from? And so much of the film was filmed at the house, I wanted to see if something there could be responsible.”

Whether you believe in the “Poltergeist Curse” or not, this one’s worth tuning in for. It’s not every day you get to see ghost hunters investigate one of horror’s most infamous real-world shooting locations, and potentially uncover something that’s been dormant since the cameras stopped rolling.
