John C. McGinley and Judy Reyes Reprising Their Roles in SCRUBS Reboot at ABC Along With Three Headliners

We are getting closer to the return of the hit ABC medical dramedy Scrubs, which is welcoming back creator Bill Lawrence, as well as its stars, Zach Braff (J.D.), Donald Faison (Turk), and Sarah Chalke (Elliot).

Now we have confirmation that they will be joined by Judy Reyes (Carla), and John C. McGinley, who played Dr. Perry Cox in the original. It is probably likely that we will also see the last two remaining original cast members, Ken Jenkins and Neil Flynn, reprising their characters of Bob Kelso and Janitor, respectively.

The reboot “follows JD Dorian (Braff) and Christopher Turk (Faison), who scrub in together for the first time in a long time — medicine has changed, interns have changed, but their bromance has stood the test of time. Characters new and old navigate the waters of Sacred Heart with laughter, heart and some surprises along the way.”

One of those old characters is McGinley’s Perry Cox, the sarcastic attending physician and unwilling mentor to J.D. who becomes the chief of medicine at Sacred Heart Hospital before transitioning to being a professor when Sacred Heart is turned into a medical school.

It will be fun to see the original cast back together! Stay tuned for updates on the series’ return.
