David Fincher’s PANIC ROOM Getting a 4K UHD Release

David Fincher’s 2002 home invasion thriller Panic Room is finally getting a 4K UHD released on SteelBook, Blu-ray, and Digital on February 18 via Sony.

The film was restored in 4K and that process was supervised by the director with Dolby Vision/HDR and Dolby Atmos audio.

This is such a great movie! I loved the direction and the visual style. It is a very unique home invasion thriller and one of the best that’s ever been made. I’m looking forward to watching it in 4K!

Written by David Koepp (Jurassic Park, Mission: Impossible), the movie stars Jodie Foster, Forest Whitaker, Dwight Yoakam, Jared Leto, and Kristen Stewart.

In the film, “Trapped in their New York brownstone’s panic room, a hidden chamber built as a sanctuary in the event of break-ins, newly divorced Meg Altman (Jodie Foster) and her daughter, Sarah (Kristen Stewart), play a deadly game of cat-and-mouse with three intruders—Burnham (Forest Whitaker), Raoul (Dwight Yoakam) and Junior (Jared Leto)—during a brutal home invasion. But the room itself is the focal point because what the intruders really want is inside it.”

The release includes:

Disc 1 – 4K UHD:

Disc 2 – Blu-ray:

Disc 3 – Blu-ray:

2025 is poised to be a banner year for Fincher fans, as Se7en is coming to 4K UHD in January and a 4K restoration of Fight Club is also in the works.
