John Malkovich Cast in Apple TV+ Show BAD MONKEY as Series Regular in Season 2

Academy Award nominee John Malkovich (The New Look, Dangerous Liaisons, Being John Malkovich) has signed on to star in the Apple TV+ series Bad Monkey as a series regular in Season 2. He joins series lead and executive producer Vince Vaughn in the comedy series from Bill Lawrence.

Based on Carl Hiaasen’s New York Times bestselling novel, the second season of Bad Monkey will be based on a new original story. Season 1 tells the story of Andrew Yancy (Vaughn), who has been bounced from the Miami Police Department and is now a health inspector in the Keys.

But, after stumbling upon a case that begins with a human arm fished up by tourists, he realizes that if he can prove murder, he’ll be back in. He just needs to get past a trove of Floridian oddballs and one bad monkey.

Malkovich will star as Spencer, the head of a major South Florida criminal organization.

Season 1 also starred L. Scott Caldwell, Rob Delaney, Meredith Hagner, Natalie Martinez, Alex Moffat, Michelle Monaghan, Ronald Peet, Jodie Turner-Smith, with special guest star John Ortiz and guest stars Zach Braff, Ashley Nicole Black, Scott Glenn, and Charlotte Lawrence. It remains unclear who, if anyone, from the original cast will reprise their roles in Season 2 other than Vaughn.

Season 2 of Bad Monkey is expected to hit Apple sometime next year.
