Disney and Lucasfilm are releasing a very limited edition replica of Mara Jade Skywalker’s lightsaber hilt, and with only 3,500 units worldwide, it may be a tough one to get your hands on.
Mara Jade is one of the most beloved Legends characters in Star Wars history. She was Introduced in Heir to the Empire (1991) by Timothy Zahn, and she went from being the Emperor’s Hand, one of Palpatine’s most elite assassins, to a powerful Jedi and eventually the wife of Luke Skywalker.
This Emperor’s Hand Limited Edition Legacy Lightsaber set includes:
-
A highly detailed Legacy Lightsaber Hilt
-
A variant cover comic from Star Wars: Mara Jade – By the Emperor’s Hand (#1)
-
An individually numbered insert
-
A wooden collector’s box with sliding doors, featuring a split design—half Empire symbol, half New Jedi Order symbol
The hilt is designed to illuminate purple when attached to a Legacy Lightsaber Blade (sold separately).
The lightsaber set drops at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET on March 8th at The Disney Store, priced at $325. It will also be available in person at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World and Disneyland Park.
With only 3,500 units split between online and physical locations, expect a quick sellout. If you’re ordering online, get in the queue early and have your account details ready.
Mara Jade has remained a fan-favorite character and with the resurgence of Thrawn in live-action and the expansion of the Star Wars universe at Lucasfilm, it’s not a stretch to think we’ll see her officially return one day… in live action. If that happens, this lightsaber will become even more sought after.
