Oscar Isaac Says He’d Return to STAR WARS as Poe Dameron If Something Good Was Offered to Him

Emmy nominee Oscar Isaac has starred in nearly every genre- from sci-fi to romance, animation to action, Isaac has taken roles in some of the biggest properties like Dune, Marvel, and of course, Star Wars.

His character in a galaxy far, far away, Poe Dameron, survived the sequel trilogy, so could we see him again in one of the projects brewing in the Star Wars universe? Isaac hasn’t ruled it out.

When asked in an interview with Variety if he’d return as Poe Dameron, he borrowed a line from The Simpsons, and in a high-pitched child’s voice, responded, “I’m a Star Wars.” Then he said, “Yeah, I’d be a Star Wars again if there was something good to do with that.”

Isaac said there’s no grand strategy behind his choices, and added, “It’s just about ‘Is there something in a film that I love enough that when that alarm goes off in the morning, I’m ready and wanting to go to work?’” he says. “‘Is there enough in it to pull me across the finish line?’”

Whatever his method, he is choosing some great projects. He will next be seen in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, which will hit theaters on October 17th.

After the Venice gala for the film, Isaac will fly to Telluride to screen a secret documentary that involves him. Then he travels back to Venice for the debut of In the Hand of Dante, a mob drama directed by Julian Schnabel.
